I recently had the privilege and pleasure of attending the River Cruise Expo (hosted by ASTA) in the picturesque city of Amsterdam, and it was an absolute delight. The event was a treasure trove of insights into the world of river cruises, where I had the opportunity to mingle with industry suppliers, engage in enlightening discussions, and forge connections with like-minded travel agents.
Prior to the Expo, I embarked on a Netherlands river cruise FAM (Familiarization) trip, which was nothing short of spectacular. Alongside fellow agents, I indulged in immersive experiences at port stops, savored delectable cuisine, and enjoyed captivating entertainment. The highlight was undoubtedly the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge from industry leaders, including Pam Hoffee, the President of Avalon Waterways, and Sandra McLemore, a travel advisor media and marketing guru.
During the Expo itself, I was immersed in a whirlwind of seminars, updates from leading river cruise lines, and engaging panel discussions. Staying aboard the Emerald Dawn and exploring seven other river cruise ships provided me with invaluable insights into the unique offerings of each line.
