There are two primary regions to visit for Christmas Markets:
The Danube and Central Europe
The Danube and Central Europe has some amazing Christmas markets. Stroll cobblestone streets in Budapest, sip mulled wine in Vienna, purchase a beautiful gift in Nuremberg. It is such a lovely time to be in this region of Europe.
Rhine
The Rhine is another region of Europe with some beautiful Christmas Markets. From seeing the twinkling lights from a canal cruise in Amsterdam, to carolling at a market in Cologne. Walking through the fairytale town of Strasbourg, and finally finding that perfect gift in Basel. This is a fantastic trip through Western Europe.
Unique Christmas Market River Cruises
Provence
Sailing the Rhone through Provence is lovely any time of year, and the Christmas season is no exception. Weather will be a bit more temperate here than in other places, and while the markets aren't as large, they are still lovely.
Holland and Belgium
Another alternative is to take a river cruise on the canals of Holland and Belgium - what a fantastic way to stock up on Christmas Chocolates!
